New DVD Home Cinema Systems with upscaling to HD and versatile connectivity
Today we announce the forthcoming availability of three new DVD Home Cinema Systems from July 2010. The highly attractive and sleek systems – finished in polished black acrylic – provide a convenient hub for enjoying high-quality music and video entertainment with movie playback, flexible connectivity, and compatibility with a range of video and audio formats, as well as a mic input for karaoke.
DCS-404K 5.1 channel: make home cinema core to your living space
The “DCS” product range comprises two 5.1 channel and one 2.1 channel systems. All components are finished in a high-gloss, deep black acrylic and with sleek design will complement any living room environment. The DVD unit is compact (just 36 cm wide) and exudes a clean, minimalist feel. The only control on the front face is a centrally positioned volume knob, with other key buttons positioned on top of the system, while the use of subtle white light for the display’s characters completes the timeless, high-quality feel.
Strong looks are backed by performance. A key feature is a video upscaler. This takes standard DVD content and matches it to the native pixel resolution of an HD TV at 1080i, 1080p, or 720p to display images with much more detail, colour, and vibrancy. Complemented by an audio soundtrack in surround sound, you will enjoy highly engaging movies and video. Alongside the HDMI connection, for linking to an HD TV, the systems also provide other convenient connection options.
In addition to these features, it’s also simple to rip CD to USB at 2X speeds, while the versatility of the DCS range is a theme that extends to the set-up options enabled by the three models.

The three configurations ensure you have the freedom to match the systems to your living space:
- DCS-404K 5.1 channel – with four tall speakers and centre/subwoofer, the DCS-404K is suited to anyone who wishes to make home cinema core to their living space. The tall speakers combine a high-gloss acrylic finish with grill jersey fascias, providing an eye-catching statement and strong performance in a set-up that comprises 45W x5 + subwoofer 75W.
- DCS-202K 5.1 channel – offering similar performance and stylish finish as the DCS-404K but in a more compact design, the DCS-202K is a great option for those who enjoy the performance of 5.1 channel surround sound, but prefer smaller speakers. The system comprises four satellite speakers, and a centre speaker/subwoofer with performance of 45W x5 + subwoofer 75W.
- DCS-FS303K 2.1 channel – the DCS-FS303K is perfect for anyone who enjoys surround sound performance but who has limited space for components. It too offers great looks with the glossy black acrylic and high quality grill jersey fascias, but consists of a subwoofer and two slim front speakers for 2.1 channel performance at 45W x2 + subwoofer 75W.
