New HDD/DVD Recorders

New HDD/DVD Recorders
The world’s longest recording time on HDD and DVD.

The new DVD recorders realise superior performance in terms of recording time and quality, and capacities on both HDD and DVD – up to 711 hours of recording or up to 24 hours on DL DVD-R. This is combined with the fastest high-speed dubbing as well as a variety of easy, convenient functions including a completely new GUI with HELP Function and new features like the Digital Audio jukebox.

DVR-630H

HDD / Disc capacities
The sleek products (height 59 mm) include:

  • the DVR-433H (black or Silver) with an 80GB hard disk that holds up to 227 hours of video;
  • the silver DVR-530H (160GB HDD) can accommodate up to 445 hours of video;
  • the DVR-630H (250GB HDD) allows users to store up to 711 hours of video.

Thanks to our newly developed MPEG encoder, each product can record up to an amazing 3 hours 30 minutes of video in full resolution on DVD-R or up to six hours for a dual layer DVD-R.

New GUI with intuitive HELP function
The products are simple to use. By assessing how consumers interact with technology, Pioneer has designed a new, easy-to-use on-screen interface (GUI). So even when operating these new recorders for the first time, you’ll be able to enjoy your simple, convenient and clear on-screen controls thanks to the following new functions:

  • The “Disc Navigator" offers rapid, faster than ever before, programme scrolling and several title display options. Multiple titles can be selected at the same time to perform the same action on each title or to edit them all at once.
  • A built-in multilingual HELP function offers you assistance at the touch of a button and guides you through the next steps of the menu.
  • The intelligent DVD recorders also automatically display guidance messages to guarantee trouble-free operation.

GUIDEPlus+ EPG
GUIDEPlus+Additionally, the DVR-530H and DVR-630Hs’ ease of use is complemented by the GUIDE Plus+™ EPG. This provides a multi-day electronic TV guide including easy one-button programming from detailed TV channel and programme listings.

High-quality recording and playback
The advanced MPEG encoder provides the foundation of an ‘XP+ recording mode’ for recording to HDD, which enables the recording of higher quality images at 15 Mbps – the maximum bit rate for MPEG2 MP@ML. To enhance all-round performance, the recorders feature 10-bit precision, full-digital signal processing, and immediately convert incoming analogue video to digital to deliver precise and superior image quality. With Dual PureCinema Progressive Scan (PAL / NTSC) the recorders produce stable and flicker-free viewing when connected to a compatible display device.

Fast and flexible HDD to DVD transfer
Video can be transferred to DVD at much higher speeds thanks to the integrated high-speed DVD-writer mechanism of the products. Depending on the recording mode selected and DVD-R/DVD-RW media used, transfer speeds over 100 times faster than real time can be achieved, the fastest rate currently available.

Based on the information stored on the HDD at the time of recording, ‘two-pass’ encoding automatically optimises the bit rate allocation depending on the images, and creates a recording to a DVD disc in the optimum picture quality.

The recorders also offer great flexibility in recording and playback. Not only can you enjoy “Chase Play” playback, but even record new content to the HDD while transferring previously recorded media to or from DVD or while conducting a disc back-up, another unique feature. Playback of finalised DVD-RAM and +R and +RW discs with video content is also supported to offer maximum disc interchange flexibility.

Extending applications
JukeboxPioneer has extended the applications of the HDD / DVD recorders by adding a Digital Audio Jukebox. With a touch of a button, you can rip your favourite CDs to the HDD. It’s the ideal source for a gigantic library of video and audio titles. Albums can be searched and played using the on-screen Juke Box Navigator.

Support for compressed audio playback from disc is also provided through WMA and MP3 formats. Likewise you can playback JPEG files recorded on CD from within the PhotoViewer application.

Easy recording is possible from a variety of sources in addition to the built-in analogue TV tuner, with support for optimum quality RGB video via SCART and, for digital camcorders via the i.LINK DV input, while the DVD Video Recording mode offers safe, non-destructive editing.
