FAQ - Blu-Ray, DVD Writer

Are Pioneer DVD computer drives compatible with Windows Vista and how should I install it?

Windows Vista comes with a generic device driver with embedded support for CD-R/RW and DVD-R/RW and +R/RW writing. This means that our DVD writer products are compatible with Vista.

The installation process for an Optical Disc Drive in Vista is exactly the same as for XP:

  • Shut down the computer
  • Connect the ODD
  • Turn on the computer
  • Windows will detect the new hardware and will install the generic drivers for this device.

If Windows doesn't detect the drive, check the BIOS settings and verify if your drive is connected properly.
