 Available from January 2013

As the first device in the company’s new line of cycling gear, the SGX-CA900 high-performance cycle computer aims to advance the biking technique and capacity of pros and athletes. In combination with the wireless, water resistant SGY-PM900 pedalling monitor sensor the cyclist can visualise left and right pedalling force separately, and analyse his pedalling efficiency, providing feedback for optimal performance.

“Pioneer has long been a catalyst for innovation, continuously seeking new ways to expand and strengthen its customer base by applying its knowledge and experience to new markets,” said Wim Van Den Eeckhaut, Business Development Manager Cycling Business at Pioneer Europe. “This new high-performing cyclocomputer brings unique functionality that will appeal to competitive cyclists who never settle for anything less than the leading position.”

Pioneer’s SGX-CA900 athlete cycle computer is designed for professional cyclists, team cyclists and athletes who want to take their training to its highest level by improving on their cycling technique and efficiency. Firmly mounted on the handlebar, the splash proof, dust proof and shock resistant cyclocomputer remains reliable even in extreme heat and wet conditions. It features a fully customisable, high-resolution 2.2 inch QVGA colour LCD touchscreen that’s well readable in direct daylight and consumes minimal power. With a built-in GPS, the cyclist can fully focus on his performance while the cyclocomputer keeps track of the training route. A barometer and thermometer offer reliable elevation and an advance on changing weather.

To give training sessions a new edge, the SGX-CA900 gives access to a host of online services, allowing cyclists to upload data, display it on maps and graphs for analysis, review their progress and share it on Facebook and Twitter. Pioneer’s online service offers a range of features such as detailed analysis of left and right pedalling power, efficiency and force vector every 30 degrees of rotation.

For seamless integration into any training schedule, the athlete cycle computer is set to be paired with Pioneer’s pedalling monitor sensor set and works with other third-party industry standard ANT+ sensor equipped accessories as well. Incorporating Pioneer’s proprietary high-precision sensing technology, the SGY-PM900 pedalling monitor sensor is a great tool for increasing both pedalling power and efficiency.
