First Bluetooth and iPod compatible CD Tuner: DEH-P70BT
The DEH-P70BT is the new high-end in-car radio and CD/MP3 unit with Bluetooth phone (including handsfree operation) and iPod connectivity. With its wide range of features, intuitive interface and numerous audio compression formats, this tuner will provide you an unparalleled mix of communication and entertainment options.
Bluetooth
The DEH-P70BT’s Bluetooth connection for compatible mobile phones1 removes the need and costs to install a separate handsfree system. The handset is automatically registered by the headunit and can be stored anywhere in the car.
With integrated PhoneBook memory, the unit can database contacts and detail call history. Up to five profiles can be registered with 500 contacts and 5 phone numbers per contact available so that families and business users who share cars can access their personal information. Additionally one guest user can connect to the unit and use it as a handsfree system as well. Voice commands to search contacts and make a call are also supported through the DEH-P70BT’s microphone providing that the feature is available on the handset.
iPod
iPods can be connected through Pioneer’s CD-IB100 adaptor. It is compatible with all iPods (second generation to current) including the iPod mini versions. Dedicated software in the DEH-P70BT provides a menu that’s very similar to the iPod operating system and supports all key functions including search (by song, album, artist and playlist), pause and shuffle. The iPod battery is also automatically charged by the adaptor.
Other features
The DEH-P70BT includes a high quality MP3, WMA, AAC CD-R/RW player with Pioneer’s renowned MOSFET (4x50 Watts) amplifier and D4Q Digital AM/FM RDS tuner. The OEL display is deep blue and shows information extremely clearly. The headunit can also be connected to a car’s existing information screen through an OEM display output. Additional connectivity is available for DAB radio and CD changers and the system is compatible with MP3, WMA, WAV and AAC formats so that files downloaded from the Internet can be played in the CD player.
Ergonomics played a primary role in the design of the product. All of its functions can be controlled through one rotary button that provides a very convenient interface especially when scrolling through the PhoneBook or searching iPod playlists. Drivers can also manage key commands through a steering-wheel mounted remote control.
