MIXTRAX featuring mix creator function now available for free download
29 November, 2012
After releasing its MIXTRAX music management software in 2011, Pioneer today launches an updated MIXTRAX software version that gives users more control over their music mixes. Whereas in the previous version non-stop playback was based on automatic music selection, the new version adds a “Mix Creator” function that allows users to create unique mixes using the favourite parts of their favourite music.
MIXTRAX software incorporates Pioneer’s proprietary music analysis and mixing technology to generate non-stop music mixes with added transitions and effects to create a club-like atmosphere. MIXTRAX analyses each song and displays music information using three types of blocks1 (such as “Intro” and “Hook”), enabling users to mix their music easily by simply specifying the playback range and selecting how each track is mixed into the next. With a single click, the resulting music mix can be saved to a PC in MP3 or WAV format. By transferring the mix to a USB memory stick or another compatible device2 such as a STEEZ AUDIO portable music player for instance, it can be enjoyed in all kinds of different situations.
The new MIXTRAX version is now available as a free download on http://www.mixtrax-global.com.
The major changes in the latest version include:
1) A new Mix Creator function.
- Music information is displayed in blocks, making it very easy to mix tracks. Users can create unique mixes by changing the order of songs, or by playing a certain part of a track repeatedly, for example.
-
Music mixes can be saved to a PC in MP3 or WAV format. These music files can then be enjoyed in all kinds of different situations, by transferring them to STEEZ AUDIO portable music players, importing them into iTunes, or transferring them to USB memory sticks and playing them on devices supporting USB.
- By switching to Waveform Display Mode, users can make more precise settings and edit mixes more accurately. The playback position can be adjusted to coincide with the beat or not by selecting a position on a grid where the grid lines are spaced at half-beat intervals. Users can also specify two types of cross-fade settings and eight types of effect settings.
2)The Windows version is sized down and responsive.
- The startup time and music analysis time for the latest Windows version of MIXTRAX have been reduced, and the software is now more responsive when users scroll through lists or switch play lists.
3) “Rhythm Sequencer” and “Create/Edit mix style” functions have been added to the Mac OS version3.
- Two functions that were previously only available in the Windows version have now been added to the Mac OS version. The “Create/Edit mix style” function is used to change the range of music and the types of effects. The “Rhythm Sequencer” function is used to create rhythm patterns.
