After releasing its MIXTRAX music management software for Windows PC, Pioneer now launches MIXTRAX software for Mac OS* to enable even more people to enjoy non-stop music mixes. MIXTRAX software incorporates Pioneer’s proprietary music analysis and mixing technology to generate non-stop music mixes with added transitions and effects to create a club-like atmosphere. Both MIXTRAX versions are available as a free download here.

Providing a new way to enjoy music, Pioneer’s MIXTRAX software transforms a consumer’s music library into customisable tracks that can be processed by select Pioneer STEEZ —the audio system designed specifically for dancers which was launched in 2011— and car audio products.

In addition to automatically classifying music into playlists, the software analyses the features and tempo of the music and automatically selects music that has a similar tempo, allowing the user enjoy a non-stop mix of his favourite tracks.

Using a USB memory stick, SD card or the MIXTRAX iPhone application¹ to transfer the analysed music information to compatible Pioneer car audio products, it’s easy to enjoy uninterrupted music mixes in the car. By transferring analysed music information to the dance audio system STEEZ², street dancers will be able to conduct dance rehearsals or battles, adjusting the automatically selected music to the dance genre with functions like Tempo Control and DJ MIX.

Similar to those for Windows, the following functions are available³:

• Non-stop mix play turns tunes into a natural mix
• Pioneer uses a proprietary algorithm to determine music genre, enabling the automatic creation of playlists
• Allows the user to import music from his iTunes⁴ library and incorporates incremental updates
• Data-based analysis of music from around the world
• New ways to enjoy music through compatible equipment.

Notes to editors
¹ - An application to enjoy mix playback on your iPhone. Can be downloaded from the App Store (both free and paid versions are available)
² - Music can be transferred to STEEZ products via a USB memory stick or through a USB connection for Mac or PC with MIXTRAX software installed.
³ - The following functions for Windows are not available for Mac OS. These will be added in subsequent updates.  
     · Creating and editing new mix styles that change the range of playback and the type of music effect
     · A rhythm sequencer function that enables the creation of rhythmic patterns.
