Pioneer presents pure compact audiophile component set

STEREO RECEIVER, CD PLAYER AND SPEAKERS PERFORM IN PERFECT HARMONY
Pioneer Europe unveils a new set of compact stereo components that offers pure, high fidelity sound and space-saving convenience. The new P1 component set comprises two units, the PD-P01 CD player and SX-P01 stereo receiver, both with refined cosmetic designs and the most advanced technology. The audiophile components are complemented by the S-P01 bookshelf speakers that deliver powerful and detailed sound.
To faithfully reproduce the original sound, the stereo components are equipped with an impressive feature set. High speed and powerful sound is guaranteed thanks to high efficiency Class D amplification. A 192 kHz/32-bit D/A converter is used on the CD player to reproduce musical nuances in masterful sound quality, whereas the stereo receiver’s direct energy construction with separate shield structure reduces noise and distortion, resulting in crystal clear audio. Both stereo components have an elegant design with a rigid aluminium front panel, set off with a pair of glossy black speakers.
“For sound that exceeds the quality expected in its class, our engineers have selected only the most durable parts when constructing these components,” says Tim Goethals, Product Planner Home Electronics at Pioneer Europe. “Ideal for audiophiles with limited space, the compact CD player and stereo receiver are designed to perform perfectly in sync, to provide the best audio performance possible.”
SX-P01 stereo receiver
The SX-P01 stereo receiver clearly reflects an emphasis on high fidelity. Compact yet powerful, it delivers an impressive 2x75W and is fitted with two digital inputs (optical/coaxial) plus two gold-plated analogue inputs and gold-plated speaker terminals, a subwoofer pre-out, a headphone out, and an FM tuner with RDS (DAB/DAB+ on DAB model only).
Attention to detail is also apparent in the SX-P01’s direct energy construction with separate shield structure. The shield isolates the audio block from the power block allowing the signal transmission to pass through the shortest and simplest path. This reduces noise and distortion resulting in crystal clear audio. A Source Direct Mode switches off all unused circuitry for the purest possible sound.
The receiver’s rigid aluminium front panel adds cosmetic appeal and increases impact resistance, protects audio signals from vibrations, while ensuring higher rigidity and heat resistance. Naturally, the matching PD-P01 CD player shares the same exceptional build quality.
PD-P01 CD player
The PD-P01 integrates a high accuracy 192 kHz/32-bit D/A Converter and large EI core transformer to achieve true-to-the-original sound reproduction. It comes equipped with a gold-plated coaxial digital output, as well as a gold-plated analogue output.
The CD player offers the ability to play back music files in a variety of formats (MP3, WMA and WAV), and adds full support for iPhone, iPod and iPad mini via its front USB1.
Completing the set are the S-P01 glossy black, 2-way bass reflex bookshelf speakers, using a 12cm high strength glass fibre cone woofer and 25mm soft dome tweeter. All can be controlled by the easy to use remote handset.
The P1 Pure Compact component set will be available as of mid March, in a choice of black (P1-K) or silver (P1-S). The DAB variant will also be available in March, in black (P1DAB-K) and silver (P1DAB S). The SX-P01 stereo receiver and PD-P01 CD player will also be offered in a XC-P01 package without the S-P01 speakers, in black (XC-P01-K) or silver (XC-P01-S) and with DAB (XC P01DAB K and XC-P01DAB-S).
