Our new high performance AV receivers will include Apple's AirPlay for network music streaming.
12 April 2011

The VSX-921 and VSX-1021 AV receivers will be available from June 2011, with more AirPlay devices launching in summer.
With AirPlay, the VSX-921 and VSX-1021 7.1-channel home cinema receivers become the hub for sound entertainment, giving you complete access, playback and control of your entire iTunes music library as well as the music stored on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Once the VSX-921 / VSX-1021 is connected to a home network through Ethernet or wireless (using the optional AS-WL300 wireless LAN converter), AirPlay lets you stream your favourite songs to the receiver from iTunes through a Mac or PC, your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. On a Mac or PC, Airplay requires iTunes 10.1 or later; an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch should be running iOS 4.2.
To use AirPlay, simply choose a song or playlist on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and then tap the AirPlay icon. The VSX-921 or VSX-1021 will appear as an available device, and once selected the receiver automatically turns on or switches to the AirPlay source to start music playback.
Using Apple’s free Remote app also enables consumers to browse and access their iTunes music library on Mac or PC. Selection of the AV receiver directly from within iTunes on a Mac or PC is of course also possible.
