Two new NavGate systems: new ways to explore and be entertained
Available now, our new NavGate AVIC-F920BT integrates sophisticated navigation capabilities as well as new groundbreaking features, including a refined 3D touch slide interface, Pioneer MusicSphere and ECO Graph.
A new AVIC-F220 add-on unit, available in April, offers a flexible navigation solution that complements our new 2010 line of in-car AV receivers.
In addition to built-in navigation capabilities, the new double-DIN AVIC-F920BT features:
- 4GB of flash memory,
- a large 6.1-inch WVGA touch screen display,
- a 3D graphics accelerator,
- DVD playback,
- built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling and music streaming,
- USB connectivity for iPod/iPhone connectivity,
- a micro SD card slot and
- back-up camera input.
It offers a comprehensive map database from Tele Atlas covering 44 European Countries, enabling users to route to millions of destinations including more than 6 million points of interest (POIs).
In addition, the system’s Traffic Message Channel receiver will inform the user about traffic jams and incidents on his route.

Audio user interface revolution with 3D
The AVIC-F920BT’s redesigned 3D user interface features dynamic shortcuts for all built-in or connected media sources, more prominent display of album art (when applicable), and improved display of audio track data.
The intuitive touch slide control is utilised for audio/video source selection and for searching through new media such as iPod/iPhone content with a new, improved ABC Search and dual-speed scroll for List Searches.
A customisable home menu, introduced in 2009 on the flagship AVIC-F10BT, will allow you to drag and drop up to 15 function icons into the home page display for easy one-touch access.
MusicSphere for mood-based playlists
With our new proprietary MusicSphere technology you will be able to enjoy music that matches your mood. When installed, the MusicSphere iTunes plug-in software3 will analyse your entire iPod, iPod Touch, or iPhone music library and create specialised playlists based on various musical attributes such as feeling (bright, energetic, gloomy, relaxing, calm), rhythm pattern, Beats Per Minute (BPM), year of the song and/or date added to the device.
Additionally, through the MusicSphere plug-in, you can select preferred parameters of your music to create a “DJ Playlist”. This function will create a non-stop mix of up to 100 tracks of the selected music types with the further ability to set the transition effects for blending between songs.
Once an iPod, iPhone or iPod Touch device has been synced with the MusicSphere playlists and is connected to the AVIC-F920BT, up to 40 specialised playlists can be accessed through an animated 3D sphere which can be rotated up, down, left and right with a slight touch of the screen.
Eco-friendliness guaranteed
The AVIC-F920BT comes with the second generation ECO Driving function that provides driving status reports and visualises the driver’s impact on the environment.
Through our proprietary NavGate FEEDS PC software, the unit can estimate the fuel cost of trip routes as well as the vehicle’s CO2 emissions through detailed Drive Reports.
Using a proprietary fuel consumption algorithm, NavGate FEEDS can also log and archive driving data and analyse driving habits to generate various reports with suggestions to improve fuel efficiency. New to this generation of eco-conscious features, the ECO Graph will provide you with a visual representation of your environmental impact.
Additionally, when a route is set, the unit will calculate a Drive Score based on driving efficiency which factors abrupt stops, accelerations and idle time.
Add-on Navigation
The AVIC-F220 is an ultra flexible navigation solution compatible with all our 2010 in-car AV receiver models (to be released in February).
The unit offers full turn-by-turn route guidance and 2,3M POIs with the ability to create custom POIs utilising the NavGate FEEDS PC software. With its Traffic Message Channel receiver, the system will warn you of impending traffic jams, construction works, and other traffic emergencies.
AVIC-F220: add-on sat nav.
The AVIC-F220’s compact design allows for versatile installation in small areas and can easily be detached from its in-vehicle base for planning ahead using NavGate FEEDS.
The new NavGate FEEDS Clock and Photo View Applications can unlock functionality in the AVIC-F220. Once downloaded and transferred to the unit via SD card, these applications can be used as alternative screensavers to the map view. They give access to five different clock views and allow slideshows of personal photos complete with transition effects. Additionally, you can add POIs via SD card.
We highly recommend an AVH AV receiver in combination with the add-on AVIC-F220 for consumers who have not yet invested in a navigation system.
Our 2010 AVH AV receivers offer full-featured CD/DVD playback, USB connection for iPod/iPhone control and –for selected models- the convenience of built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling.
