A hat-trick of high-power Blu-ray Disc HD Home Cinema Systems

Today we unveil three Blu-ray Disc Home Cinema Systems, offering elegant stylish design, performance and versatility. Available from July, the systems will deliver 1080p high-quality HD video playback, along with extensive connections including USB, iPod/iPhone, Bluetooth and DLNA, so you can easily enjoy video, photos and music in a wide range of formats and from various sources.

BCS-707 5.1 channel:  make home cinema a feature of your living space

The flexibility theme is extended to system configuration; the two 5.1 channel and one 2.1 channel BD systems include a slim “free layout” subwoofer and different speaker options so you can select the optimum system for your living space.

The systems are finished in a “high-gloss” polished acrylic. The attractive design statement is accentuated by the use of subtle white lighting for the display and, the very clean layout of the front face. This includes just a volume control with white illumination around it, with other key controls positioned on top of the unit.

Looks are backed by performance. Movie playback captures all the colour and detail of HD; resolution of 1080p true 24-frames per second is complemented by 12-bit HDMI Deep Colour support. And with a wide array of surround sound formats, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential, the products deliver an immersive viewing experience.

The systems’ versatility is evident in the range of connectivity, format support, and installation options.

Interfaces include HDMI for digital connections to HD TVs, an Ethernet connection for BD-Live and to easily link to DLNA compliant applications or storage devices, and USB and mini-jack for portable music players. There is also Bluetooth for wireless music streaming from devices such as the iPhone, Bluetooth MP3 players or (portable) PCs.

The systems are “Works with iPhone” certified supporting iPod and iPhone out of the box with a designated cradle (included), and featuring iPod video playback. Video formats supported from USB, disc and through DLNA include DivX, DivX HD, and MKV.

With audio, all key files are supported, from WMA to MP3 and AAC, while the units’ virtual surround sound creates a richer, more rewarding sonic experience compared to small docking units. JPEG Images can also be displayed on TVs, e.g. from USB, while music can be ripped from CD to USB at speeds of 2X.

BCS-303 5.1 channel: subtly position speakers around your room

Smart subwoofer design and speaker configuration options

The systems include a slim, compact design for the subwoofer. With its side-facing woofer it doesn’t need to sit in the typical free-standing position, but can be located against a wall, or even under the sofa, delivering deep sound effects without diverting the eye from the action. Moreover, the three configurations ensure you have the freedom to match the systems to your available space:

  • BCS-707 5.1 channel – suitable for those who are happy to make home cinema a feature of their living space with four tall speakers, and slim subwoofer/centre speaker finished in high-gloss with grill jersey fascias. The set-up comprises 180W x5 + subwoofer 210W.
  • BCS-303 5.1 channel – ideal for those who demand 5.1 channel performance, but who wish to subtly position speakers around the room. The system comprises four compact satellite speakers, and a centre speaker/slim subwoofer with the same high-gloss finish and grill jersey fascia as the BCS-707. Performance is identical too (180W x5 + subwoofer 210W format).
  • BCS-FS505 2.1 channel – for those who wish to enjoy surround sound effects with a smaller number of components, the BCS-FS505 is ideal: consisting of a slim subwoofer and two slim front speakers for 2.1 channel performance (180W x2 + subwoofer 210W). The satellite speakers can be positioned vertically or horizontally and are produced with high-quality grill jersey fascias.
