New CD tuners from Pioneer integrate broad connectivity with high quality sound

We announce 4 new multi-format CD tuners that allow playback from almost any source, including iPod, iPhone and USB. This year’s models bring an increase in display size and brightness to enhance ease of operation even further.

The DEH-4400BT, DEH-3400UB, DEH-2400UB and DEH-1400UB produce solid 50W x 4 channel sound and support playback of MP3, WMA and WAV music files. Each CD tuner offers complete flexibility when it comes to connecting extra amplifiers, speakers and subwoofers for those looking to add some extra power.

Aside from a CD player and front USB terminal for optimum ease of use, the new tuners come with an Aux-in slot for compatibility with any type of portable audio player. This Aux-in lets the user quickly and safely link an audio device and immediately enjoy a selection of tunes while driving. The DEH 4400BT adds an integrated Parrot Bluetooth module and external microphone to the mix, enabling hands-free telephony and wireless audio streaming from Bluetooth enabled audio players thanks to the A2DP Bluetooth protocol. In addition, AVRCP protocol support allows simple operation of the audio player via the tuner, whereas SSP profile support allows fast wireless data transfer between Bluetooth capable devices.

With iPod and iPhone Direct Control, the DEH-4400BT, DEH-3400UB and DEH-2400UB allow users to connect their device straight to the tuner’s front USB terminal and enjoy superior sound, free from the static of an FM transmitter. As a handy extra, the iPod or iPhone will charge while connected.

The devices feature a telephone mute connection which mutes the radio when a telephone is active, as well as a Wired Remote input which enables a direct connection from the tuner to the user’s car’s own steering wheel remote control, so he can control the main functions of the unit safely through the steering wheel remote control. In fact Pioneer has one of the industry's largest steering wheel remote interface line-ups on offer, covering hundreds of car models.

A white LCD display –1 line with 10 characters, 12 on the DEH-4400BT– shows crystal clear track and radio information, whereas button illumination is red. The DEH-3400UB comes with an RGB display and button illumination which allows the driver to select the colour that best matches his dashboard illumination for seamless integration into any car.

Pioneer’s new CD tuners possess many of the same features found in high-end home receivers including high power output with the celebrated MOSFET 50W x 4 amplifier set-up for our renowned powerful sound reproduction, Bass/Mid/Treble control and Advanced Sound Retriever (ASR) technology which restores any musical detail lost in the creation of compressed music files. Should extra power be required, a pre-out – two on the DEH-4400BT – enables connecting an additional amplifier and subwoofer.

Availability
