New design-orientated Series 3 speaker range
This November our newest Series 3 models of high fidelity loudspeakers will be available across Europe.
Smart, slim looks
Conceived with the intention to satisfy music as well as design lovers, the new range combines smart, slim looks with precise sound reproduction.
The Series 3 speakers incorporate new drivers and advanced technologies, resulting in a dynamic sound restitution, free of internal and external acoustical disturbance.
The elegant line-up consists of three models:
- the S-31 floor-standing speaker,
- the S-31B bookshelf speaker and the
- S-31C centre speaker, all available in a light or black wood coloured finish and with removable grilles.
Complementing the range is a compact sized black subwoofer for multi-channel settings: the S-51W.
Bringing together European artistic sense and sensitivity with Japanese high-skilled manufacturing, an international team of engineering specialists created the sober and compact Series 3 range to provide the design-conscious audio enthusiast with a technologically advanced audio solution that integrates perfectly in any contemporary interior.
Without dominating the room, all speakers in the line-up output a clear and precise sound, suitable for any music genre.
Built for purity and performance
Whether revealing the subtle details of a music CD or underscoring the dynamic action sequences in a film, the Series 3 speaker line features many technological advances in speaker design to reproduce every note and nuance as the artist intended.
Exact reproduction: just as the artist intended
Profound acoustical studies have led to the selection of a down-firing bass-reflex port in the S-31 floor-standing speaker to improve the low frequency response of the sound reproduction. Inheriting the EX Series' ABD (Acoustic Balance Drive) and AFAST (Acoustical Filter Assisted System Tuning) simulation technologies, the S-31 completely eliminates vertical standing waves usually responsible for uneven, boomy or sucked out bass response. The result is precise and dynamic bass with no low midrange colouration.
All Series 3 models feature our Phase Control technology, which manages time and phase response of the speakers to minimise the effect of sound delays usually due to the filtering process of multi-channel recordings. When combining these speakers with a Pioneer AV receiver featuring Phase Control, multi-channel sound is reproduced faithful to the original source.
Unique cabinet design
To match sound excellence with avant-garde design, French product designer Steeve Senescat –the creative brain behind the EX Series’ appearance- created a distinctive line of minimalist speakers, assembled with great attention to detail. Their clever round shaped cabinet increases rigidity and prevents unwanted sound from enclosure diffraction. The innovative design also ensures that all Series 3 speakers have an identical sound balance when used in a multi-channel setting, which increases the listener’s feeling of being immersed in the sound stage.
Flush mount grilles for a clean appearance.
By removing redundant parts of conventional speakers while respecting the Pioneer heritage and characteristics, a balanced and understated style emerged. The speakers’ slim silhouette with curved lines and flush mount grilles add to the series’ performance and clean appearance. Whether in a black or light wood coloured finish, each of these loudspeakers is a welcome addition to any modern décor.
