With 7.1 channel surround sound in HD, watching a film becomes an unforgettable experience. For convenience, you can easily (and without dock) connect your iPod, iPhone or iPad with the included cable to enjoy any audio and video on it. The receiver will optionally upscale iPod or SD video to 1080p quality. You can also connect USB storage devices and play MP3, WMA and AAC compressed audio files.
The VSX-826 has 6 HD inputs including 4 x HDMI.

Turn your living room into a cinema with HD surround sound. With 7 speaker outputs, you’ll immerse yourself in a a true 360° cinema sound experience. The receiver supports all popular surround formats including HD formats so you can enjoy high-definition audio from Blu-ray discs as well.
High-definition audio
Besides Dolby Pro Logic II, the receiver supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio so you can enjoy uncompressed, high-definition audio from Blu-ray discs as well.
Bluetooth audio streaming
If your phone, laptop or tablet is is Bluetooth equipped, you can live stream audio to the receiver (with optional adapter). The Sound Retriever AIR restores sound quality after transmission.
Digital Direct connection with your iPod, iPhone or iPad
No need for a dock – you can connect your Apple device directly to the receiver. Thanks to the digital connection, you get the best possible audio quality (further enhanced by the Advanced Sound Retriever). Furthermore you can view photos and videos on, and stream apps like YouTube to your TV.
The latest, convenient HDMI technology
With HDMI, you can use this receiver to watch 3D video from a Blu-ray disc. Other convenient features include an Audio Return Channel for TVs with DVD player or Tuner built-in, for example, and Standby pass-through.
Intelligent speaker calibration
Surround speakers can hardly be ideally positioned. MCACC therefore analyses the existing sound field using a microphone (included), just like a sound professional, and adjusts the sound timings to precision-tune the system to your room.
