Preset Recording Modes
The Recording Modes determine both the quality of the recording as well as the amount of 'space' that recording will take up on the Hard Disk or a DVD disc.
The higher the quality of the recording, the more 'space' it will need on the Hard Disk or DVD disc. The purpose of these modes is to give you flexibility in your recording - whether it's quality or quanity (in terms of number of hours) you're looking for.
These following recording modes come as standard on our DVD Recorders:
• XP: Fine: The highest quality setting, giving about 1 hour of recording time on a DVD disc.
• SP (Standard Play): Default quality, sufficient for most applications, giving about 2 hours of recording time on a DVD.
• LP (Long Play): Slightly lower video quality, but doubles the recording time on a DVD to around 4 hours.
• EP (Extended Play): Use when optimal recording time is most important; EP gives you around 6 hours of recording time on a DVD disc.
• SLP (Super Long Play): Use when maximum recording time is most important; SLP gives you around 8 hours of recording time on a DVD disc.
• SEP (Super Extended Play): Use when maximum recording time is most important , quality less important; SEP gives you around 10 hours of recording time on a DVD disc.
• Manual: Allows for personal settings.
