The slim VSX-S500-S brings you the fundamentals of HD home cinema, plus the added possibility of intelligent sound adjustments. With MCACC, you're always in the ideal surround sound sweet spot whether you're gaming, watching a movie or playing a tune stored on your mobile phone.
85mm high and 317mm long, it fits into almost any home entertainment design. The Sound Wing Mode function, accompanied by 1 or 2 Sound Wing speakers, makes it the ideal system for reliable 360° surround sound from a minimum speaker configuration.
Plug in your iPod or iPhone, and it becomes one with the receiver. Or insert a USB device to play PC files. And when you connect to your internet via LAN, you can enjoy internet radio and automatic firmware updates. A WiFi converter is optional.
The VSX-S500-S comes with 6 separate HD inputs, including a total of 4 x HDMI, and a built-in AM/FM tuner. You also benefit from Eco Mode, an energy-saving feature capable of reducing up to 60% of power consumption by automatically de-activating any unnecessary functions.

No need for a dock – you can connect your Apple device directly to the receiver. Thanks to the digital connection, you get the best possible audio quality (further enhanced by the Advanced Sound Retriever).

This AV receiver can play 3D video from a Blu-ray disc. Other convenient features include an Audio Return Channel for televisions with a built-in DVD player or tuner, for example.
Sophisticated sound-tuning
Calibrating speakers to optimum surround sound is often a challenge. MCACC uses the integrated microphone to analyse your sound field, much like in a professional sound studio, and then adjusts each speaker's sound timings to the ideal settings for your living space.
