Audio Heaven By Raymond, United Kingdom on 26/03/2011
Originally aiming to purchase a VSX-1020 I was given a demo of the VSX-LX53. The ability to handle the new HD audio codecs was my main reason for upgrading from my 3 year old Yamaha. I also wanted to get back to a black system as I preferred the look on my kit rack. The VSX-LX53 totally blew me away - I was slack jawed at the control and power which was in abundance. Pairing with my B&W M1 satellites and REL Strata sub was a breeze using the MCAAC auto setup. Once calibrated the usual Dark Knight test was offered to the amp and accompanying BDP-LX54. Better than the 'Odeon' was my initial thought. 2 months later and I'm still in awe every time I watch a BD disc. The internet radio is a bonus (not having a tuner in the house before) and plugging my iphone in is a doddle. To cap it all, I've now started to play CD's again. All this mp3 playing has been put on the back burner - I'll now be listening to lossless audio as the quality in the usual 128kbps is apparent when a high quality amp is in the loop. My cousin bought the same amp and has yet to plug his in due to decorating his house - but he's always here listening to my set up. Kudos.

Dissapointing... By Anonymous, United Kingdom on 10/03/2011
Everything the reviews say is true!! By Terence, United Kingdom on 25/01/2011
Having spent 3 months researching AV Receivers in various magazines and online, I demo'd and purchased the Pioneer VSX LX53. This is my first AV amp, so I thought it wise to do the legwork, particularly as I was prepared to pay up to £2000. I found that Pioneer AV Amp/Blu Ray products consistently received 5 star reviews, and after listening to the amp teamed with the B&W MT30 5.1 speaker set up, I was hooked. The product delivers everything that's said about it and more. The sound it delivers is awesome, no matter what the source. The on screen menu's are easy to underdstand and the full manual explains the greater detail relatively straightforwardly. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone.

Great Performance By Anonymous, United Kingdom on 24/01/2011
I wanted a AV receiver to work with my B&O 8000 and 6000 speakers and my B&W subwoofer and that would work with my new Sony 60 inch 3D TV and Sony 3D Bluray player. This product does an excellent job. I am particularly impressed by the control over HDMI which means that for all normal operations I use the TV remote. The sound quality is excellent and the auto setup for sound balance is very good. Movies sound great and the picture quality is excellent.

What Hi-Fi? awards VSX-LX53 5 stars
VSX-LX53 - Sehr gut in audiovision 6/2011
VSX-LX53 - Sehr gut in AUDIO 10/2010
