DVR-530H is European digital video recorder of the Year
DVR-530H is named EISA’s 2005-2006
"European digital video recorder of the Year"
The recently introduced DVR-530H HDD/DVD recorder has carried off a prestigious European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) award as ‘European Digital Video Recorder of the Year’ for 2005-2006.
‘EISA provides the ultimate in independent endorsement of innovative home entertainment products; it represents the collective opinion of nearly 50 highly-specialised consumer electronics magazine editors from around Europe', says Philippe Coppens, Manager, Technology and Product InfoManagement, Pioneer Europe.
‘It’s an exciting tribute to Pioneer’s DVD recorder range that EISA selected a mid-range product for this recognition,’ continues Coppens. ‘The trio of HDD/DVD recorders that we announced as recently as June comprise the entry-level DVR-433H, the now award-winning DVR-530H, and the top-of-the-line DVR-630H.
EISA’s citation says it all: ‘Don’t be misled by its discreet, slimline appearance. The new Pioneer DVR-530H is a fully-fledged digital recorder and much more besides! Of course, it reads and writes recordable and rewritable DVDs – dual-layer discs too. And thanks to Pioneer’s unique “space-saving” encoding algorithm, the DVR-530H can fit up to 13 hours of data onto a single DVD-R.
‘Rather more storage is available on the built-in 160GB hard disk, which permits EPG-controlled time-shift recording of up to 450 hours of broadcasts. Best of all for music fans, the innovative digital jukebox feature lets the hard disk double as a complete archive of cherished CD collections.’
EISA also handed its coveted ‘Best of 2005-2006’ awards to the Pioneer
VSX-1015 home theatre receiver and to Pioneer’s 50-inch PDP-506XDE ‘PURE Vision Black’ plasma TV. The triple award for each of the three key components in the home cinema set-up underlines Pioneer’s industry leadership in the provision of easily connected Home Theatre technologies that provide the purest audio and visual experience.
Pioneer’s DVD recorder range
Pioneer’s slimline HDD/DVD recorders are the first to provide up to 24 hours of recording on Dual Layer (DL) DVD-R media. They offer an advanced MPEG encoder that extends recording times while improving recording/playback quality, and industry-leading copy speed and HDD capacities.
The new user-friendly GUI’s intuitive HELP function guides consumers, while the Disc Navigator offers the fastest-ever programme scrolling and several title display options.
The ease of use of the two upper models [DVR-530H and DVR-630H] is complemented by the GUIDE Plus+™ EPG. This provides a multi-day electronic TV guide including easy one-button programming from detailed TV channel and programme listings.
The recorder also includes a Digital Jukebox. With a touch of a button, consumers can rip their favourite audio CDs to the HDD. Albums can be searched, genres assigned and tracks set to be skipped via the recorder’s GUI.
