FAQ - Car Audio

When I have an incoming call, why does the name of the caller does not always appear on the screen of my car stereo?

Our car stereos compare the incoming telephone call number with the exact telephone number stored in its memory. If these numbers match, the car stereo will display the caller’s name as it is stored in the phone book.

Possible reasons why the caller’s name is not shown on the display include:

  • Contact information of the caller is not stored in the car stereo memory (in most instances you need to transfer your phone book from your mobile phone memory to the car stereo memory).
  • The incoming call is prefixed by a country code, whereas the number in memory may be stored without a country code (for example, the incoming call could be +32 477 ... whereas the number in memory is 0032477... or 0477...).
  • The same name is stored twice in the car stereo memory.
  • CLI (Call Line Identification) should be enabled on your phone in order to receive the caller’s number.
  • The caller is phoning from a private number.
