Team Pioneer at 2008 European EMMA Finals

Team Pioneer has had a very successful 2008 season. Having registered in 169 competitions, the team has achieved a top three podium place in 85% of them and accomplished over 50% wins!

The European Finals of EMMA (The European Mobile Media Association) are the crown on the competition season and Team Pioneer attended in full force. In total no less than 26 team cars qualified for this venue including the three UK champions.

This year the annual European Finals were held in central Europe. The Austrian city of Wels played host to the Finals, which took place during the Austrian motor show, the “PS Show”, from 24th to 26th October. The event visited by over 35.000 people and a competition field of exactly 300 cars from 28 nations, including Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Russia and Ukraine.

Team Pioneer

Pioneer Europe hosted the members on a surface of about 800m² including the ‘Pioneer trailer', the Pioneer Alfa Romeo 159 demo car as well as a 2-stage VIP area for the members and special guests only.

In order to make the team's achievements more visible to the visitors, a ‘victory lane' was created on the trailer: a walk-through lane on the one side flanked by a glass cabinet of no less than 6m long and 2m high showing all 88 cups collected in Season 2007. The other side of the lane being a wall with our winning products; the ODR, PRS and TS-E ranges, along with the Subwoofers and Amplifiers. Also on the wall was a team presentation: an aluminium plate for each member showing his personal data as well as his achievement list. This data was repeated by acrylic signs on top of each team car to enhance the communication to the public.

The Results

In these finals, the Team Pioneer cars were active in all existing categories: Sound Quality, Multi Media (A/V), ESPL (SPL measurement based on a musical track both with open and closed doors) and EMMA Racing: a combination of ESPL, cosmetic car tuning and driving skills.

Team Pioneer UK members achieved 13th place in the ‘Master 5 channel' category, 11 th in ‘Advanced 7 channel' category and finally achieved 6th in the ‘Expert Unlimited' category!

The results are unique in the EMMA history, never before has a single team or a single brand reached this achievement list: in total 14 cups were collected by 100% Pioneer equipped cars of which 6 European champions, 5 Vice European champions and 3 third places!

Team Pioneer has now become the EMMA reference!
