via the shortest possible signal paths.

The units in our LX line-up use a professional-grade Burr-Brown
192 kHz/24-bit analogue to digital converter and a Wolfson WM8740 192 kHz/24-bit digital to analogue converter to maintain high resolution performance.

Advanced MCACC

Your home entertainment system is like a musical instrument; it needs to be fine-tuned to get the best results.

MCACC (Multi-channel Acoustic Calibration System) is a unique system, developed with AIR Studios, which measures and analyses the reverb characteristics of your speakers and optimally tunes the sound output to suit your room.

Using a standalone microphone (which is included), the system measures and automatically compensates for differences in speaker size, level and distance, and equalises the response.

All measured data of Advanced MCACC can also be saved
on to a USB stick for viewing on your PC (using our freely available PC application).

* MCACC is a standard feature on all models from the VSX-520. Advanced MCACC is available on all models from the VSX-920.

PQLS for Multi Surround

HDMI links picture and sound with one cable, however transmission via HDMI can cause clock jitter, causing sound distortion during the digital-to-analogue conversion.

This is where the unique PQLS (Precision Quartz Lock System) can help.

When connected to one of our Blu-ray players* via HDMI, PQLS ‘speed synchronises’ the digital audio data between the receiver and the player, reducing the jitter.

The result is clear, rich and precise audio.

* 2-channel PQLS is available on all models from the VSX-920. Multi-channel PQLS is available on all models from the VSX-LX53. You can select either linear PCM or bitsream transmission output on the SC-LX83.

Full Band Phase Control

When amplifying multi-channel speakers, receivers use a
Low Pass Filter to process the low frequency signals for the subwoofer output. This causes a ‘phase lag’ (a delay of around 5 milliseconds) between the main signal and low frequency signals.

Full Band Phase Control uses automatic measurements to correct group delay within the speaker units, significantly improving the sound without any extra operation.

It also corrects the group delay between different speakers, aligning the timing of all speakers. Enjoy sound with smooth transitions from the low to the high range, while maintaining the full-frequency performance of multi-way speakers.

Dolby Pro Logic IIz

Dolby Pro Logic IIz adds front height channels to a conventional 5.1 or 7.1 speaker settings, giving you a more ‘spacious’ surround experience.

Simply put, it distinguishes background sounds and adds them to additional front height speakers for an enhanced front surround sound experience.

Creating the depth and dimension of a lifelike soundstage, this speaker configuration is ideal for gamers and may also complement your 3D video experience.

The technology also provides you with a wide range of choices for positioning your speakers to optimise sound in any room.

Dolby Pro Logic IIz doesn’t require special content and is available on all
existing soundtracks.

* Available on all models from the VSX-520.

Live audio streaming

With the optional AS-BT100 Bluetooth adaptor, all new VSX receivers – except for the VSX-420-K/S – feature wireless Bluetooth audio streaming from any Bluetooth-enabled iPhone, iPod touch, Android platform, other smart phone
or PC.

You could, for example keep your phone nearby while enjoying music through your home cinema system.

* The AS-BT100 is included as standard with the SC-LX83, SC-LX73, VSX-LX53 and VSX-2020, and is an optional accessory for all other models from the VSX-520.

Sound Retriever AIR: a world first

When streaming music via Bluetooth, sound quality may be lost due to the compression process.

Sound Retriever AIR is the world’s first technology for improving the quality of sound transmitted via Bluetooth. It restores the music cadence lost through compression and reduces the noise generated.

The result is a cleaner, crisper sound.

* Sound Retriever AIR is available on all models from the VSX-920, with the exception of the SC-LX90.

Internet Radio

Listen to a multitude of radio stations from around the world on the internet.

Selected receivers have a LAN interface. Simply connect the receiver to your home network and enjoy access to thousands of internet radio stations worldwide, ranging from music and news to sports.

The SC-LX73, VSX-LX53, VSX-2020, VSX-1020/1025and VSX-920 come with 24 preloaded preset stations, easy URL entry for your favourites by web browser or optional keyboard entry through the front USB input.

The SC-LX83 and SC-LX73 feature vTuner, which enables you to easily find internet radio stations from the list that was created, edited and managed for our receivers.

All analogue video outputs are converted to just one HDMI cable, making a tidier (and easier to manage) connection panel.

Our latest receivers feature HDMI version 1.4a with 3D technology. You can enjoy the latest 3D video content by connecting to compatible Blu-ray disc player or STB and display via HDMI.

The AV receiver will also support Deep Colour and x.v.Colour for vibrant, lifelike colours with smooth gradation transitions.

PureCinema is a de-interlacing technology unique to Pioneer which upscales analogue video, but without flicker or jagged edges.

Included you’ll find an AV cable to connect your iPod or iPhone.
Enjoy your music and videos perfectly - no dock is necessary.

When using a dock, you usually have to rely on the limited conversion abilities of your iPod. Using a direct connection means you can depend on the powerful digital conversion of our receivers. Better sound, without spending extra.

Navigating playlists is easy; the GUI – which also shows album art – gives quick access. And in standby, your iPod battery will charge.

Control the receiver using your iPhone or iPod touch with our free iControlAV application, which gives you added convenience and comfort.

* Models from the VSX-820 to SC-LX83 have an iPod / iPhone Direct Control button on the front panel which transfers all control from the receiver remote to iPod or iPhone.
